About us

Auto-filled profile (draft)

Alva-Charging Services is a registration partner fully focused on registering and monetising EREs for charge-point owners. Private customers pay 25% commission on a one-year contract; business customers pay 23% for a three-year or 21% for a five-year term. There are no separate service costs. Proceeds are paid out once a year and participation requires a smart charger that can be read remotely. Alva presents itself with a clear user portal and personal contact with short lines. The trade-off is the relatively high commission for private users and the longer business contracts of three to five years.

Smart charger & MID meter

What is a smart charger?

A smart charger is a charging station that is connected to the internet and can automatically record and report your charging sessions to the provider. This lets the provider see exactly how many kWh were charged and when, and — for some services — steer the charging moment to take advantage of green electricity or lower tariffs. Whether your charging station must also be connected (OCPP, app or cloud) is up to the provider: the NEa only requires that the link with your charging station can be demonstrated — a photo of just a kWh reading is not enough.

A MID meter built into the charging station is mandatory

For ERE registration a MID meter built into the charging station is mandatory (NEa). The MID meter provides an accurate, legally valid record of the charged volume; without a MID meter the kWh cannot be converted into ERE units. The only exception the NEa names is an exclusive allocation point set up by your grid operator, behind which only the charger draws power — rare for home chargers.
