About us

Auto-filled profile (draft)

Targray is an international raw-materials and commodity trader (founded in 1987 in Montreal) in biofuels, battery and solar materials and environmental commodities; Targray Europe B.V. in Rotterdam has been the European hub for trading carbon credits and renewable energy certificates since 2024. The company publishes no Dutch ERE offering: no commission, rates or sign-up option, and the website has no Dutch-language version. In Canada, Targray does run a programme through which charging-network operators (from five charge points) monetise credits — a Dutch variant has not been announced. For private users and businesses with a charge point this is currently not a comparable offering.

Smart charger & MID meter

What is a smart charger?

A smart charger is a charging station that is connected to the internet and can automatically record and report your charging sessions to the provider. This lets the provider see exactly how many kWh were charged and when, and — for some services — steer the charging moment to take advantage of green electricity or lower tariffs. Whether your charging station must also be connected (OCPP, app or cloud) is up to the provider: the NEa only requires that the link with your charging station can be demonstrated — a photo of just a kWh reading is not enough.

A MID meter built into the charging station is mandatory

For ERE registration a MID meter built into the charging station is mandatory (NEa). The MID meter provides an accurate, legally valid record of the charged volume; without a MID meter the kWh cannot be converted into ERE units. The only exception the NEa names is an exclusive allocation point set up by your grid operator, behind which only the charger draws power — rare for home chargers.
