Scholt Energy

About us

Auto-filled profile (draft)

Scholt Energy from Eindhoven is an established business energy supplier where ERE registration is part of a broader energy service. Customers get a fixed contact person, personal contract and portfolio management, and insight into consumption, forecasts and energy-price composition via the ScholtOnline dashboard. ERE rates are not published separately and payout frequency is not fixed; smart-charging requirements are also unspecified. The offering is business-only and makes most sense for companies that already source their energy through Scholt.

Smart charger & MID meter

What is a smart charger?

A smart charger is a charging station that is connected to the internet and can automatically record and report your charging sessions to the provider. This lets the provider see exactly how many kWh were charged and when, and — for some services — steer the charging moment to take advantage of green electricity or lower tariffs. Whether your charging station must also be connected (OCPP, app or cloud) is up to the provider: the NEa only requires that the link with your charging station can be demonstrated — a photo of just a kWh reading is not enough.

A MID meter built into the charging station is mandatory

For ERE registration a MID meter built into the charging station is mandatory (NEa). The MID meter provides an accurate, legally valid record of the charged volume; without a MID meter the kWh cannot be converted into ERE units. The only exception the NEa names is an exclusive allocation point set up by your grid operator, behind which only the charger draws power — rare for home chargers.
