About us

Auto-filled profile (draft)

Qwello, formerly Park&Charge, is a charge point operator (CPO) in the Netherlands and Belgium that focuses on public charge points in residential areas and on charge points at (business) locations; the company previously took over the EVnetNL charge points, is part of the European Qwello group headquartered in Germany and continues as Qwello Benelux. For businesses, Qwello installs, manages and maintains charge points on their own site without investment by the location owner, and it can take over existing charge points. Business locations with Qwello charge points, or that want them installed, can sign up for ERE's: Qwello bundles the charging volumes for economies of scale, and the location owner can receive a fee once a year. Requirements include a private grid connection and suitable registration of the charging sessions; Qwello checks whether your location qualifies and guides the process. Qwello does not say who registers the ERE's with the NEa: the company says it works with recognised partners. Sign-up is via the form on the ERE page; commission, costs and term are not published.

Status on ERE-Vergelijk

Qwello is included in our provider overview but was not on the final list of booking service providers the NEa published (version of 7 Aug 2026). One reason can be that a provider works through a registered booking service provider.

Smart charger & MID meter

What is a smart charger?

A smart charger is a charging station that is connected to the internet and can automatically record and report your charging sessions to the provider. This lets the provider see exactly how many kWh were charged and when, and — for some services — steer the charging moment to take advantage of green electricity or lower tariffs. Whether your charging station must also be connected (OCPP, app or cloud) is up to the provider: the NEa only requires that the link with your charging station can be demonstrated — a photo of just a kWh reading is not enough.

A MID meter built into the charging station is mandatory

For ERE registration a MID meter built into the charging station is mandatory (NEa). The MID meter provides an accurate, legally valid record of the charged volume; without a MID meter the kWh cannot be converted into ERE units. The only exception the NEa names is an exclusive allocation point set up by your grid operator, behind which only the charger draws power — rare for home chargers.
