About us

Auto-filled profile (draft)

Primecharge from Barneveld is a new, accessible player fully focused on electric charging, operating independently of the large energy suppliers. The company does not yet publish rates or contract terms, and website information is minimal. Payout frequency is also unknown. Anyone considering this provider should request the terms directly and compare them with providers that do publish figures.

This text was compiled in July 2026 from public information published by the provider. Something not right? Update it in the provider portal.

Status on ERE-Vergelijk

PrimeCharge was on the final list of booking service providers the NEa published (version of 7 Aug 2026) and is included in our provider overview. The NEa has not published a list since October 2026.

Not in the comparison

The NEa register is broader than our comparison: it also holds parties that only book fuels or have no offering for charge-point owners. No offering from PrimeCharge is in our comparison yet.

Smart charger & MID meter

What is a smart charger?

A smart charger is a charging station that is connected to the internet and can automatically record and report your charging sessions to the provider. This lets the provider see exactly how many kWh were charged and when, and — for some services — steer the charging moment to take advantage of green electricity or lower tariffs. Whether your charging station must also be connected (OCPP, app or cloud) is up to the provider: the NEa only requires that the link with your charging station can be demonstrated — a photo of just a kWh reading is not enough.

A MID meter built into the charging station is mandatory

For ERE registration a MID meter built into the charging station is mandatory (NEa). The MID meter provides an accurate, legally valid record of the charged volume; without a MID meter the kWh cannot be converted into ERE units. The only exception the NEa names is an exclusive allocation point set up by your grid operator, behind which only the charger draws power — rare for home chargers.
