About us

Auto-filled profile (draft)

Plugfuse from Breda manages charge points with transparent management rates on its website. Its role in the ERE chain is mainly technical: the company supplies usage data via MID meters used for ERE applications, but states on its own site that it does not apply for HBEs or EREs itself. There is accordingly no ERE commission, per-kWh reimbursement or sign-up page. Charge-point owners who have their management with Plugfuse can ask how the data delivery connects to an ERE service of their choice.

Smart charger & MID meter

What is a smart charger?

A smart charger is a charging station that is connected to the internet and can automatically record and report your charging sessions to the provider. This lets the provider see exactly how many kWh were charged and when, and — for some services — steer the charging moment to take advantage of green electricity or lower tariffs. Whether your charging station must also be connected (OCPP, app or cloud) is up to the provider: the NEa only requires that the link with your charging station can be demonstrated — a photo of just a kWh reading is not enough.

A MID meter built into the charging station is mandatory

For ERE registration a MID meter built into the charging station is mandatory (NEa). The MID meter provides an accurate, legally valid record of the charged volume; without a MID meter the kWh cannot be converted into ERE units. The only exception the NEa names is an exclusive allocation point set up by your grid operator, behind which only the charger draws power — rare for home chargers.
