About us

Auto-filled profile (draft)

Floading from Arnhem builds and runs charging infrastructure for businesses: fast chargers for electric trucks, buses and machinery at the company's own depot, from grid connection and installation to software and battery storage. For ERE's, Floading says it acts as your registering party: by its own account the company handles the technical inspection of the charge points, the registration with the NEa, the yearly audit by an independent verifier and the sale of the units. The service is aimed at businesses charging through their own grid connection; the vehicles may be owned, leased or belong to a subcontractor charging there, and Floading installs the legally required meters. The website is not consistent about the payout: Floading speaks of periodic payouts, while its FAQ says the value is usually paid out in spring, after the yearly audit and approval. No rates are published; the process starts with a request for a yield forecast or a phone call.

Status on ERE-Vergelijk

Floading is included in our provider overview but was not on the final list of booking service providers the NEa published (version of 7 Aug 2026). One reason can be that a provider works through a registered booking service provider.

Smart charger & MID meter

What is a smart charger?

A smart charger is a charging station that is connected to the internet and can automatically record and report your charging sessions to the provider. This lets the provider see exactly how many kWh were charged and when, and — for some services — steer the charging moment to take advantage of green electricity or lower tariffs. Whether your charging station must also be connected (OCPP, app or cloud) is up to the provider: the NEa only requires that the link with your charging station can be demonstrated — a photo of just a kWh reading is not enough.

A MID meter built into the charging station is mandatory

For ERE registration a MID meter built into the charging station is mandatory (NEa). The MID meter provides an accurate, legally valid record of the charged volume; without a MID meter the kWh cannot be converted into ERE units. The only exception the NEa names is an exclusive allocation point set up by your grid operator, behind which only the charger draws power — rare for home chargers.
