About us

Auto-filled profile (draft)

Chargit from Nijmegen handles the sale of ERE certificates on behalf of charge-point owners, both private and business. There are no start-up costs to sign up, and those who generate their own renewable power — for example with solar panels — may receive a higher rate. Commission and any costs are not published; business customers receive a tailored proposal and private customers also only learn the exact rates on request. Proceeds are paid out annually. Anyone looking for monthly payouts or upfront rate transparency should ask Chargit about this explicitly.

Smart charger & MID meter

What is a smart charger?

A smart charger is a charging station that is connected to the internet and can automatically record and report your charging sessions to the provider. This lets the provider see exactly how many kWh were charged and when, and — for some services — steer the charging moment to take advantage of green electricity or lower tariffs. Whether your charging station must also be connected (OCPP, app or cloud) is up to the provider: the NEa only requires that the link with your charging station can be demonstrated — a photo of just a kWh reading is not enough.

A MID meter built into the charging station is mandatory

For ERE registration a MID meter built into the charging station is mandatory (NEa). The MID meter provides an accurate, legally valid record of the charged volume; without a MID meter the kWh cannot be converted into ERE units. The only exception the NEa names is an exclusive allocation point set up by your grid operator, behind which only the charger draws power — rare for home chargers.
