BlueMarble Charging

About us

Auto-filled profile (draft)

BlueMarble Software from Almere develops a hardware-independent charging-infrastructure management platform (CPMS) based on OCPP. The platform targets charge-point operators and managers — not individual EV drivers — and offers real-time dashboards, API integrations and energy management. ERE registration is built into the platform as a feature, allowing operators to monetise their charging volume. Commission rates are not published and payout is by arrangement. Some technical knowledge is required for setup; in return, operators get a flexible, hardware-independent foundation.

Smart charger & MID meter

What is a smart charger?

A smart charger is a charging station that is connected to the internet and can automatically record and report your charging sessions to the provider. This lets the provider see exactly how many kWh were charged and when, and — for some services — steer the charging moment to take advantage of green electricity or lower tariffs. Whether your charging station must also be connected (OCPP, app or cloud) is up to the provider: the NEa only requires that the link with your charging station can be demonstrated — a photo of just a kWh reading is not enough.

A MID meter built into the charging station is mandatory

For ERE registration a MID meter built into the charging station is mandatory (NEa). The MID meter provides an accurate, legally valid record of the charged volume; without a MID meter the kWh cannot be converted into ERE units. The only exception the NEa names is an exclusive allocation point set up by your grid operator, behind which only the charger draws power — rare for home chargers.
