About us

Auto-filled profile (draft)

50five supplies and manages EV charging solutions and also handles ERE registration for charge points managed through its own 50five platform. The service is open to private and business customers and uses a tiered commission: 23% for a one-year mandate, 21% for two years and 19% for three years. Separate service costs are not published. ERE proceeds are paid out annually. Participation requires a MID-certified meter, a charge point connected to the 50five platform and a charging volume of up to 75,000 kWh per year. Customers use the 50five GO app and charge card with insight into their charging sessions.

Smart charger & MID meter

What is a smart charger?

A smart charger is a charging station that is connected to the internet and can automatically record and report your charging sessions to the provider. This lets the provider see exactly how many kWh were charged and when, and — for some services — steer the charging moment to take advantage of green electricity or lower tariffs. Whether your charging station must also be connected (OCPP, app or cloud) is up to the provider: the NEa only requires that the link with your charging station can be demonstrated — a photo of just a kWh reading is not enough.

A MID meter built into the charging station is mandatory

For ERE registration a MID meter built into the charging station is mandatory (NEa). The MID meter provides an accurate, legally valid record of the charged volume; without a MID meter the kWh cannot be converted into ERE units. The only exception the NEa names is an exclusive allocation point set up by your grid operator, behind which only the charger draws power — rare for home chargers.
