EreDirect

About us

EreDirect is a new registration service (inboekdienstverlener) focused exclusively on private home chargers, and it competes on price: 10% commission on the net sales proceeds for the first 500 registrants, 12% thereafter, with no subscription or upfront costs. The mandate runs per calendar year and is not renewed automatically. It requires a charge point with an MID-certified meter inside the unit itself, whose charging sessions can be read out digitally. Once a one-time connection is set up, the read-out happens automatically. EreDirect is listed on the official NEa register of registration service providers. The service is still in its start-up phase: the NEa account will be requested once there are enough registrations (200). Charging year 2026 can then be booked in retroactively: all kWh charged in 2026 that are available as readable session history on the meter can be included (including sessions from before your registration). Payment follows within 30 days after the ERE certificates have been allocated and sold.

Message from the team

EreDirect is not a traditional company with office buildings and sales teams. It grew out of a simple conviction: this can be done better and cheaper. The platform was built entirely from scratch with one goal: to run as efficiently as possible. Fully automated, not reliant on manual work, and designed to grow reliably along with the ERE market.

Status on ERE-Vergelijk

EreDirect is included in our provider overview but was not on the final list of booking service providers the NEa published (version of 7 Aug 2026). One reason can be that a provider works through a registered booking service provider.

Smart charger & MID meter

What is a smart charger?

A smart charger is a charging station that is connected to the internet and can automatically record and report your charging sessions to the provider. This lets the provider see exactly how many kWh were charged and when, and — for some services — steer the charging moment to take advantage of green electricity or lower tariffs.

A MID meter is almost always required

Regardless of whether the charger is smart or not, an MID-certified meter is almost always required for ERE. The MID meter provides an accurate, legally valid record of the charged volume. Without an MID meter, the kWh cannot be converted into ERE units. The only exception the NEa names is an exclusive allocation point set up by your grid operator, behind which only the charger draws power — rare for home chargers.
