About EVBox

EVBox B.V. is based in Amsterdam and made AC charging stations for home and business. In 2024 its shareholder, ENGIE Group, decided to sell the DC business and discontinue the AC and Everon businesses through a solvent wind-down. EVBox B.V. now limits itself to warranty and after-sales service for the AC range.

Dynamic load balancing and solar charging often need a separate meter, sensor or licence.

MIDVariantSmartYes

The MID meter has been a factory option from day one and sits in the wall dock, not the click-on station. SKUs with "kWh meter/UMTS" in the name have it; plain Wi-Fi variants do not. No retrofit possible. In doubt? Ask your point of sale.

MIDVariantSmartVariant

The 4th generation and the online versions of older generations (a Hub with card reader and modem, or a Satellite linked to such a Hub) have a MID-certified kWh meter. The Autostart version (charging without a card, no modem) has no kWh meter — its type plate then shows a 0 directly after the dash (e.g. B1321-0…). In doubt? Ask your point of sale.

Check your own charge point

Not sure which model you have, or does it depend on the version? The MID check takes you through it in a few steps.

Compare ERE providers

Does your charge point have a built-in MID meter? Then an ERE provider can pay you for every kWh you charge. Compare what the providers pay.

This check is informational and based on public manufacturer specifications. For 100% certainty, inspect the type plate (green M-logo + EN 50470-3) or ask your registration provider.
